Behavioral Support
We have dedicated our careers to assisting caregivers and individuals with complex behavioral issues find positive behavior support solutions. We spent many years working with individuals that, at the time, no one else in the State would serve due to their high behavioral needs.
Behavioral Interventions are overseen by a Licensed independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) with over 20 years’ experience in the field.
Services Offered
Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA)
An experienced clinician conducts a thorough assessment of the individual’s behaviors to determine what the function, or cause of the behavior is. Interventions are developed based on that function. This assessment provides a “road map” for teams to better be able to support complex behaviors.
FBA assessment process includes development of a Behavior Support Plan (BSP). Additional services include training staff on the interventions and development of a safety plan.
Behavioral Day Service
A common approach to individuals with complex behavioral issues is to place them in an environment that is away from other individuals. While some separation is sometimes necessary, we believe that our individuals with complex behavioral needs deserve the same opportunities for success as anyone else.
We offer an environment that has multiple rooms, so one individual’s behaviors are less likely to influence others. The staff are highly experienced and have specialized, ongoing training on behavioral interventions by a clinician.
The best part: all individuals that are served with us are able to come together daily for lunch at the Industrial location. Additionally, the same outing choices are offered to all individuals. This gives individuals with higher behavioral needs to practice skills with their peers and not be isolated from them.
We believe that the components for success are specialized trained staff, clinician oversight, a physical environment that offers space, when needed, an enriched activities schedule, and opportunities to practice skills with peers.
Clinically Supported Residential Services
Residential Services has been our specialty for decades in our careers. We have learned that one of the biggest predictors of a successful Shared Living placement is finding the right match! This includes a thorough assessment of the individual’s preferences and needs and matching those with the Shared Living Provider (SLP).
We also offer a small Continuous Residential Program (group home). Staff are chosen specifically for the individuals in services. Staff receive specialized training for high behavioral needs of the individuals served in this program.
We believe in not overworking our staff. We believe in paying our DSPs appropriately for the work they are doing. We are rarely short staffed, so DSPs are not working an overabundance of overtime, which decreases caregiver strain.
Additionally, our clinical team is available to support all residential placements 24/7. Our safety plans are written and reviewed by clinicians and updated regularly. Our residential providers receive ongoing specialized behavioral training and support from the entire CSC team.
Compassionate Services has a Behavioral Risk Endorsement from the State of Nebraska!
