Day Services
We started day services with a specific goal in mind: To offer truly meaningful, enriched activities for individuals. We feature a weekly schedule that is developed by our administration with the goal of providing a variety of activities, so individuals have options through their days.
Community Integration
CSC offers Community Integration as the primary service. There are a wide range of community activities offered daily. There are so many options of activities! We offer volunteering at different locations such as the food bank, working with animals, Meals on Wheels, cleaning exercise equipment at a health center, etc. Fun activities such as going to the movies, bowling, going to the zoo, going to the arcades. Exercise options including structured exercise classes, swimming, weightlifting, and open gym. There are too many to count!!! All our activities are intentional, with built in habilitation in everything we do.
Day Habilitation
For individuals that may not tolerate high level of activity, CSC also offers Day Habilitation services. Individuals have a wide range of options in our day center to ensure an active and enriched environment. The best part is, if they want to participate in a community activity, they can do so. CSC offers “Retirement Club” which focuses on maintaining a healthy mind, body, and social life for individuals that are elderly but still want to participate in day services. CSC has staff that are medically trained to manage any medical care needs. Additionally, all medical services have nursing oversight.
Vocational Rehabilitation/Job Coaching
CSC partners with Vocational Rehabilitation in order to provide job ready services to help individuals locate and maintain competitive employment. CSC also supports individuals post Vocational Rehabilitation in Supported Employment services to assist in maintaining their position.
CSC Lunch Program
At CSC we believe in home-cooked meals! A trained chef prepares lunch daily for all individuals and staff that are interested in eating, at the low cost of $5 a meal. Lunch always has options! Typically, there is a main course, a salad, and a rice bowl option. CSC understands many individuals have special dietary needs and we happily accommodate! Individauls can choose to bring their own lunch- but most prefer to eat CSC’s lunch!
The best part is that individuals have the opportunity to learn real cooking skills! CSC caters to the individual’s skill level when teaching cooking. From pouring items in a bowl and mixing to preparing an entire lunch- we accommodate all skill levels.
Social Skills Club
A unique offering to CSC is a clinically developed, year-round social skills curriculum. Each month is focused on a different social skill. The focus of the curriculum is on introducing the skill, practicing the skill, and then utilizing the skill in different environments. Individuals that participate in Social Skills club weekly are able to practice their skills while going out to eat at the end of the month.
Topics include introductions, hand washing, hygiene, boundaries, manners, etc.
Mental Health Therapy
CSC employs mental health therapists that are available to provide therapy sessions for individuals during day service hours. See the therapy page for more information on this service.
Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy
CSC partners with different therapists that come into the day center to provide needed therapies for individuals. We are happy to accommodate these services in house.
